Season's Greetings 

Greetings Careerfolk!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already that time of the year. Some of you may already be celebrating Hanukah and enjoying delicious Latkes or ramping up your holiday shopping. Whatever your tradition might be, we wish that you find time of the season. Your career or job search needs may be hovering at the back of your mind, or very possibly they remain front and center.  We know some of you are in transition or planning a transition for the new year, and it's not easy to simply push it aside, but with so many other distractions, we know it's hard to stay focused. 

While we celebrate the festival of Hanukah this week, which, in very quick summation, celebrates the story of when the Jews were able to rely on a small quantity of oil to light the temple's menorah that miraculously lasted eight days, we’re cognizant that career luck or happiness doesn't happen miraculously. Rather, we believe that luck favors the prepared.  “Luck is no Accident,” says the renowned Career theorist John Krumboltz. We want to help you be as prepared as possible because whether it’s a work holiday party, a gathering with friends, or simply sitting on the train commuting home, you never know who you might meet…. so let us help you make the most out of these moments.

We also want to express our Gratitude. Since our focus is on work and the role it plays in our lives, Tava and I are continuously grateful to do work that is both gratifying and stimulating. We also get to help people on a daily basis, figure out what their passion or path is. We are grateful that we found our passion, and there are many people in our worlds that have contributed to us reaching this point. I always go back to this post we wrote a few years ago because it says it all In the spirit of Gratitude.  There is something about this time of year when the expressions of gratitude are most abundant that is especially heartwarming.  No matter what you celebrate, how you celebrate, or if you celebrate, it just feels good to pause and reflect on the people and circumstances that have led you to be at this place, right now.

Latkes are one of the traditional dishes we eat on Hanukah. I’m confident it will leave you wanting to eat them all year round. Luckily, they’re quite healthy. Enjoy
